II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
The FCA is planning to refresh its Market Surveillance capability and is looking to update and develop the functionality/scope or capabilities of its current solution.

The current capability is a cloud hosted big data solution that receives around 30m Transaction Reports and circa 200m Order messages covering market activity on around 10,000 listed Products (with associated derivatives) each day and generates alerts to detect potential market abuse and identify trends for further investigation by analysts.

As part of this refresh the FCA would like to extend current capabilities beyond secondary market activity into the near real-time world of issues affecting listed companies.

The new solution will also enable the FCA to further exploit these rich markets datasets by enabling teams to utilise data engineering/data science techniques to drive improvements and generate greater insight.

The FCA is undertaking this RFI as an Information Gathering exercise for the Provision of a Market Surveillance Solution. The RFI process will include a response to an online questionnaire and attendance of a Supplier Day on the 26th May 2021. The response to the online questionnaire, which acts as the registration to the supplier day is 12noon (GMT+1) on the 24th May 2021.
